Microsoft Exchange Server - My Choice Software

Microsoft Exchange Server

Exchange Server provides unified protection and recovery for Exchange data. In addition to the protection of the Exchange databases for disaster recovery, more granular backup and recovery options are also available for mailboxes and public folders. Added options for Outlook integration, deduplication, content indexing, and advanced reporting ensure all your Exchange data is easily traceable and retrievable whenever the need arises.

Exchange Server offers the following Key Features:

Database Protection for Disaster Recovery
The Exchange Database Agent backup each Exchange database,
which includes the following key components:

  • Information Stores consisting of individual user mailboxes
  • Public Folder Stores containing data shared between multiple users
  • Transaction Log

In the event of a severe system disruption, like the failure of hardware, software, or operating systems, the Exchange Database provides 'point-in-time' recovery of a specified database, ensuring the state of the Database remains unchanged and is ready for use.

Granular Protection of Messages and Mail. The Exchange Mailbox backup individual mailboxes for swift retrieval of an individual mailbox data, like messages and attachments, that may have been lost from a user's Outlook mailbox. Routine backups of mailboxes aid users to quickly restore entire mailboxes without requiring a restore of the Exchange database itself.

Granular Public Folder Protection for Shared Information. The Exchange Public Folder backs up public folders for quick retrieval of shared data between Exchange users, like group documents, messages, attachments, and calendars. As with the Exchange Mailbox, consistent backups of mailboxes allow the facility to restore any number of public folders without requiring a restore of the Exchange database.

IntelliSnap Backup enables you to create a point-in-time snapshot by temporarily pausing data, taking a snapshot, then continuing live operations. IntelliSnap backups work in conjunction with hardware snapshot engines.

Outlook Add-In integrates with Microsoft Outlook providing users with a useful way to browse, search and restore mailbox items using Outlook directly. All mailbox entities, including messages, attachments, calendar items, and notes, are retrievable from either the locally installed Outlook application or the Outlook Web Access browser application.

Offline Database Restore using the Exchange Offline Mining Tool that allows Exchange users the ability to restore mail messages, attachments, and other mailbox items from an offline copy of the Exchange database. This capability is particularly beneficial in environments where the Exchange Server encounters significant day-to-day overhead. By providing users with an offline copy of the Exchange database to retrieve information, the Exchange Server does not undergo a reduction in performance it otherwise would if data was retrieved directly.

Content Indexing and Search enables users to content index data and later search the data from a user-friendly web interface. Users can also restore operations or other advanced actions on the searched data.
