Project Standard 2013 Open License
Microsoft Project 2013 helps to relieve some of the stresses in developing a plan, managing a budget, assigning and tracking resoruces and tasks, and many of the other processes involved in project management.
This software is ideal for project managers who can use it to not only manage schedules and costs but to manage tasks and keep reports and business intelligence at their work station. Many templates are available in Project 2013 to help you to quickly start projects and you will have access to recent files and locations from the Backstage. The layout of Project 2013 is similar to other Microsoft Office programs including Word and Excel, making this software easy to navigate and use. This version has Task Path highlighting that allows you to measure project progress and resource allocation. As a result, you will be able to link tasks to create project plans and timelines.

I am currently using Microsoft Project 2013 stadnard for a construction project where we are using it to plan out and track Work Packages. We have budgets for each work package and we also have resources loaded for each work package as well. We are able to track both cost and schedule performance using Project. there is something i like the most and my choice software told me this project had it. Timelines! Timelines offer the user a way to quickly convey a high level narrative of the schedule. This gives the audience a more efficient way to dive into the schedule. The timeline view can allow for a super clean view of the project, and is great to use in presentation.
I find Microsoft Project well suited for small to large projects or just managing daily tasks. Not using the server piece does not really allow to manage resources across the company. However, it does allow you to manage hours per project which is very helpful when planning out a project and estimating hours. Microsoft Project 2013 Standard is a usefull resource for communication when you look at it objectively, and i recommend buying it from my choice software.
The custom columns and the ability to use formulas within Project allows the user flexibility with respect to the data that they want to display, and how they want it displayed. For example, I was able to enter a formula into a custom column that calculated the week of the project a particular task was scheduled to finish. We have also used custom columns to upload data from other systems into our schedules, for example the work package status out of SAP, and material information as well. Microsoft Project 2013 Standard is trully a remarcable software!
