I've found that Microsoft SQL Server Standard 2017 2 Core Academic License has been relatively simple to use once worked with for a short period of time. As opposed to other SQL database programs I've used, I would say this is a major advantage for this particular program. Would highly recommend Microsoft SQL over other software I have used in the past. This program has solved our data management problems and allows us to work with larger datasets.
Microsoft SQL Server Standard 2017 2 Core Academic License provides my company with very good data collection and reporting. Our business is able to get proper metrics to complete their jobs. Once installed, not terribly complicated. Setup can be a little hairy (mostly because we use Netapp for storage and DR), but usage is usually easy. Mostly we use it for 3rd party apps that either require or recommend using SQL server. Also have aSharepoint instalaltion
We use Excel to connect to Microsoft SQL Server Standard 2017 2 Core Academic License to run macros on data in SQL. Excel can query SQL and place the results in a spreadsheet then I'm able to use macros to fine tune the results. create custom reports then use macro to manipulate data in ways I'm unable to with a basic SQL editor. I find that this software is very easy to navigate and figure out along the way. I think it is fairly user friendly
