At the forefront of server operating systems
No doubt, Windows has been at the forefront of server operating systems and one stunning example of this is Windows Server 2016. System administrators need not look any further when choosing a server OS and here are some of the best reasons why:
Nano Server is a very tiny version of Windows Server 2016, achieved by removing the GUI component of Windows Server 2016. It boasts a 92% smaller installation footprint than the regular installation option. It is far more secure, due to the fact that you have to add server roles administratively from outside Nano Server, therefore there is less room for attacks as compared to the GUI-version of Windows Server 2016. It has far fewer updates and is so small that it can be ported easily across servers, data centers and physical sites. Although meant to be managed remotely, a minimal local management UI called "Nano Server Recovery Console," has been included to let you perform initial configuration tasks.
Linux Secure Boot
Secure Boot is part of the Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI) specification that protects a server's startup environment against boot-time malware and other unauthorized rootkits being run.
Nested virtualization is the capability of a virtual machine to other host virtual machines within itself. Previously, this has been impossible but this feature is now finally available in Windows Server 2016. When a business wants to deploy additional Hyper-V hosts and needs to minimize hardware costs, it can make use of Nested Virtualization.
Hyper-V Hot-Add Virtual Hardware
You can now add virtual hardware or adjust the allocated RAM to a virtual machine, without having to first power down. Virtual hardware can be ?hot?-added while virtual machines are online and running.
Storage Spaces in Windows Server 2016 allows administrators to create flexible disk storage. It extends storage spaces to allow failover cluster nodes to use their local storage inside this cluster, avoiding the need for shared storage fabric.

Microsoft Windows Server Datacenter 2 Processors & Software Assurance is almost the same as 2013. The most noticeable change is the consolidation of the CAS role into the mailbox role. Aside from the management tools, you essentially have 2 server roles to choose from (Edge Transport & Mailbox). In a world where we keep getting pushed to the cloud, I'm curious to see where this software is in another ~10 years. I really like using the Microsoft Windows Server Datacenter 2 Processors & Software Assurance.
We use the calendar function the most. With 8 managing partners, and 40 staff members it helps us keep track of who is in the office, who is in a meeting and which conference room is being used. It is also used to keep track of who is using video conference so we can keep the streaming down during those moments. I personally love that the email files you can create to organize your emails. I am balancing several different functions so it necessary to be able to quickly access and locate emails. When using a grouped email list, if you want to see who is in that list you have to expand it. However, a warning comes up that tells you once you expand it you cant collapse it. So the only way to verify who is in that list is to go into the properties of it and click through the list. It would be nice if the collapse feature was still available.
Microsoft Windows Server Datacenter 2 Processors & Software Assurance brings a new set of technologies, features, and services to Exchange Server. Its goal is to support people and organizations as their work habits evolve from a communication focus to a collaboration focus. At the same time, Exchange 2016 helps lower the total cost of ownership whether you deploy Server datacenter 2016 on-premises or provision your mailboxes in the cloud.
