I've only had VmwareVcenter Server 5 Foundation For Vsphere 5 Basic Support Subscription 3 Years a day and already completely love it. I'm running two ESXi hosts, and the $500 for Essentials was completely worth it. Now I can see my entire virtual environment in one place, and get more information about it.I don't know what I would do without it. Now with 4.1 and more plugins being added by vendors it will just be that much better.
VmwareVcenter Server 5 Foundation For Vsphere 5 Basic Support Subscription 3 Years is a must if you have more then one host and only for running VMs. Central management, templates, vMotion, DRS, DPM, backup and recovery, update manager, FT, snapshots, HA and many more. Everything you need for running virtual DC. It is a dream. We just moved all servers to one unit and rebuilt the offline one.. moved everthing back onto that unit and performed the same to the second. rebalanced the servers and walked away. All in a morning. That would have taken several weekends or a complete company shutdown before. No one even noticed. I now understand the Matag guy.
VmwareVcenter Server 5 Foundation For Vsphere 5 Basic Support Subscription 3 Years can sit happy for a while. It will be a good 5 years before other firms get even close to them. And by then, VMW will have changed the way we work once again! We are now talking about auto DNS Failover from out UK Office to our French office using our MPLS Network. That would be great - using close to RT Replication, our HQ could blowup and our sales team / field staff would never know! I love VMW, Once you have the HW, it does not make any sense to go back to having a tin box for every server!
