Ease of setup. Our Hyper-V cluster was a nightmare to set up initially. Getting ESXi loaded onto each server and getting it configured was a comparative breeze. Documentation is wonderful and consists of multiple PDFs broken down into every element of install and management. Get a quote. You might be surprised. We're running a three-server cluster, 6CPU/12CORES and 1 separate license for a management server, which was the entry-level license for vSphere. It was about 1/4th what we were initially told VMware cost... We started with Hyper-V for the same reason most did; "Because it's free." Admittedly, it did do the job... once we got over the hurdles of the initial setup. However we always had small, nagging issues... When we finally got the budget approved for Vmware Vsphere 6 With Operations Management Enterprise Plus, we made the switch. The total cost was far less than what I had originally anticipated, which was nice.
the way how Vmware Vsphere 6 With Operations Management Enterprise Plus communicates and takes control of my host, is a way that manages more efficiently than any existing virtualization tool in the market, it takes full advantage of my resources, without a doubt the best what can exist in this area, the way cm storage vmotion communicates with my clusters, as it is replicated in the different clusters, gives me a confidence and confidence in using their products. simply the best virtualization tool that can exist, if you are doing a new implementation in your vmware data center you should use.
Vmware vsphere is absolutely the best product out there for managing your Virtual Infrastructure. creating and managing numerous virtual machines / servers on a single host / cluster, is simply amazing. best HA and redundant solution i've seen and very easy to use UI. I only have the problem with one thing. the fact that i hate the pricing of Enterprise grade licences that include some very critical modules like - storage vMotion is extremely high. since it's a market leader i can understand, but it's still very high.
