QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
Ask a Question-
Is SQL Server 2019 Standard free?
No, the Standard Edition of SQL Server 2019 isn’t free. However, Microsoft offers a free version called Express Edition. It’s primarily for lightweight applications and small-scale deployments. As such, it has a limited database size (10 GB per database) and hardware usage (uses only a certain number of processor cores and memory). As such, SQL 2019 Express Edition is best for business applications with low resource requirements or for users who want to test out the platform first.

Which SQL Server 2019 key/license is right for me?
SQL Server 2019 comes in several versions. The version that’s right for you will depend on your specific needs, requirements, projected traffic, and budget. The Standard Edition suits most users, including medium to large-scale businesses. It provides many features, including basic availability, data warehousing, and analytics. It’s best for users who want moderate scalability and high availability. The Enterprise Edition contains comprehensive features, making it suitable for the most demanding, mission-critical, high-level applications. It’s also the most expensive. Features include in-memory OLTP, advanced analytics, business intelligence, and extensive scalability. The Developer Edition provides the same features as the Enterprise Edition. However, it is meant only for development and testing and can’t be used for production. As such, it’s best for use by a software development team when creating enterprise applications. Finally, the Web Edition is a Standard Edition SQL Server tailored specifically for web and mobile applications. Because it’s scaled down to match the needs of web apps, it’s much more cost-effective.

What is SQL Server 2019?
SQL Server 2019 is a relational database management system developed by Microsoft. It’s the latest version of the company’s line of server products, succeeding SQL Server 2017. The solution is widely used as a primary data storage and management solution for businesses and organizations. Developers can use it as a reliable and scalable platform for storing structured data safely and efficiently. SQL Server 2019 also serves as a backend database powering a wide range of business applications such as enterprise resource planning (ERP), customer relationship management (CRM), human resource management (HRM), and supply chain management (SCM) systems. In addition, it’s the central storage solution for mobile and web applications, cloud platforms, data warehousing, and data mining projects. SQL Server 2019 can integrate with other Microsoft solutions like SharePoint and Microsoft Power BI (Business Intelligence). The latter gives SQL Server the power to extract insights from data and use it to create visualizations, dashboards, and reports.
